Aurantes, Abrantes 2017

Aurantes is an artistic project about the revitalization of public space.
The non-place found in the city centre was converted into a new meeting place, but especially in a space-tribute to the memory of the city.

The geometric rigid lines that divide the space reproduce the familiar drawings of the city (the typical painted basement and the stabilizers of interior facades) while the golden reflective color that magnifies the forgotten empty void – and that covers both walls, pavement, the urban equipment and the restored bench – refers to the glourious times when gold was sought in the river that crosses the city.
